American Apparel Woody Allen Boycott

American Apparel,

I am boycotting your product over your treatment of Woody Allen.

Of course, I don't agree with everything Woody has done, but this case is simply about copyright infringement, and I feel that if it was very low class of you to bring up Woody's sex life.

YOU CANNOT USE SOMEONE'S IMAGE IN AN AD WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION.

What kind of lawyers do you have over there? Or is it the CEOs that have made this dumb decision to embarrass an American icon and flaunt your company's ignorance of the law.

American Apparel, why don't you save yourself the little dignity you have, settle with Woody and apologize?

Again, I'm not condoning all of Woody's actions over the course of his life (nor do I condone all of MY actions), but I just feel that his sex life has nothing to do with this copyright case.

Just today I saw a great shirt that I was about to buy off site, then saw it was made with American Apparel and decided against it.

Howard Stern Totally Wrong About Purim

On today's show, after Robin read a story about Madonna and her kids being filmed wearing costumes for Purim, Howard made an erroneous remark about the  Jewish holiday.

Howard asserted that Purim was a minor holiday that "real jews" don't even think about. Very wrong! Purim is a very important holiday to religious Jews too.  It also happens to be one of the only fun holidays too. People dress up and drink a lot.  In fact, it's considered to mitzvah to drink until you're dizzy.

Just search for Purim to YouTube and you'll get a better idea.

Here's one party I found.

This is not to say Howard is a dumb man. He's quite smart and usually has great points of view. He just happens to be wrong about this.

Howard should try celebrating Purim sometime, and stop bashing Jews for celebrating one of their holidays.

To quote Ronnie the Limo Driver, "What do you have against having fun?"

Kevin Nealon Interview was Superb

The Kevin Nealon interview last week was great. Very funny, and Kevin really showed he was a good comedic match for Howard.

I am of the opinion that Kevin Nealon was the BEST SNL Weekend Update guy ever!

To me, Nealon was the only one who delivered the material like he was a newsman.

The rest of those guys delivered it like late night talk show monologues.

This is American Idol - Not Puerto Rican Spanish Idol

This Jorge Puerto Rican guy who just became a Top 12 finalist on AI should really not have first shouted out a bunch of Spanish.

This is American Idol - as in English! Remember that language?

If you know you're gonna be on TV, shouldn't you prepare just a little English?

And oh damn he has the weirdest face.

I just find myself hating myself for judging him so harshly, but really the guy's head and hair...

Blind Scott on American Idol Can't Sing

I can't believe the Blind Scott fiasco is continuing on American Idol.

Why do they keep telling this blind kid he can sing? It's cruel really.

He seems like a nice guy, and he has a passable voice, but really if Scott could see he would have been booted out long ago.

I thought that kid who sang "I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues" should have gotten to move on to the top 12. That was a really bad song, but he's a good enough singer.

Howard - Stop Dissing Rush Limbaugh

I will admit it.

I love Howard Stern and I love Rush Limbaugh.

And Howard - you've goofed on Rush Limbaugh before, but today you went way overboard.

You used to be a big free market kind of guy.

Have you taken a moment to actually study Obama's agenda? There are huge, permanent changes in there that will increase dependence on government and increase government control.

Stop focusing on your hate of Rush Limbaugh, and really take a minute to hear the legitimate criticisms of Obama's agenda. This past weekend, there were "tea parties" around the country trying to counter a media that is 100% in the tank for Obama and not reporting on the negative impacts these policies can cause for years to come.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OguDX00XfHU

Howard, I listen to your show and Rush's show almost every day. And I really don't think your political views are all that different. Although you probably differ with Rush on most social issues (as do I), I believe that economically you and Rush share similar conservative views.

You both feel that people shouldn't depend on the government for everything. You're both for low taxes and small gov. You're both for being tough on crime and terrorism. Most importantly, you both believe in the right to say what you want on the radio. He actually defended you when Clear Channel went against you.

Howard, do you really want to live in a country where there's not a vocal opposition to the government?

American Idol Confusing and Laborious

Love the talent on this year's American Idol, but there is some formatting shit that is really bugging me.

First of all, at the beginning of this first night of live competition, Ryan Seacrest very quickly went over the new rules of this season. Something about a 3 week competition and elimination. Don't have Tivo, so still don't understand the new elimination rules. This leaves me with an unsure shaky feeling.

Also why are there these LONG interviews with the kids and their parents? I really don't need to hear the whole back story on these people and see their parents say the most obvious, uninteresting things.

And what if one of the contestants has a good song, and then you see their parents are a couple of fat hicks? That will affect voters somehow.

AI - stop this right now. It's not too late to change this dreadful format. I'm watching to hear singing. If I'm blown away by the singer, down the line I might like to know more about their background.

But please stop loading us up with sob-stories and interviews.

You listened to Howard Stern about making the results show a half hour. Now listen to the Howard Stern Critic.

Lisa Lampanelli Special Disappointing

I love Lisa Lampanelli, but her new HBO special was lacking a bit in the laughs department.

Her first two DVDs were phenomenal. She was dirty and racist, but at the end of the day, she had darn good jokes.

In this special she was acting like a caricature of herself. At the end of her last Stern interview promoting this special, Artie was thrashing Lisa by imitating her act. If there's a black person, call them the N-word, etc.

Funny thing was Artie hit it right on the head. And this special really didn't seem as creative as the others. I love offensive comedy, but it has to be funny too.

I know Lisa had that big party at the Friars to watch it all together. But do you think the people there were honest with her or just stroked her ego? I'm guessing the latter.

And Santa Rosa, California? Where the hell is that place?

Artie Lange is Hurting Sirius XM

These are very trying times for Sirius XM. Their business is in a very precarious situation.

Howard Stern is admittedly the most important part of the satellite company.

The Artie limbo game is hurting the continuity of the show, and therefore a danger to Sirius XM when it needs the Howard Stern Show more than ever.

If Artie isn't gonna be there, it's time to find someone new. It might put a nice jolt into the show.

Instead, the listeners are getting a repeating, increasingly unfunny storyline.

Howard, you should put loyalty and friendship aside and think about what's best for the show, the fans and the company at this critical juncture.

American Idol False Rejections

American Idol is way better this year. The four judge thing is working so well. Can't even remember what it was like before that new girl arrived.

It's also been really cool seeing the back-stories and behind the scenes drama this year.

I'm sure that whatever happens, that Tatiana girl will be in our lives for years to come - in unpredictable ways.

The one bad change this year is this new gimmick they're doing where the make someone think they're being kicked off the show, then quickly tell them they're in.

Every once in a while might be okay, but doing it so much this season has really fucked up the aura of the show. Is this a talent competition or a teenage mindfuck experiment? It's uncomfortable and messed up to watch a bunch of young kids' dreams come crashing down - then get rocket launched into the heavens.

American Idol is naturally climactic. The joy of watching someone get closer to their dreams is great on its own. These false rejections are not funny or exhilarating. They're just mean-spirited, gimmicky and reek of forced drama.

Oh shit. Just as I was typing this, Paula did it again to a girl named Kendel.

I can just imagine the AI "writers" imagining up that genius move. Fuck them.

Artie was Right About Gary

Artie was right during their fight this week that Gary "Baba Booey" thinks he's so funny on The Wrapup Show.

Good example: This past week a caller said he though Johnny Knoxville sounded bad on the show. The caller said it sounded like Knoxville had a stroke. Then Gary joked "are you sure it wasn't you who had the stroke?" There was an uncomfortable silence, followed by the caller saying "what?" Then Gary repeated the bad joke. The guy gave an awkward chuckle then hung up.

Gary, exactly how is that a joke? The guy asks if someone had a stroke, and you say "did you have one?" And that's supposed to inspire laughter?

The Artie Gary thing this week was good. Gary threw the usual stuff at Artie - but Artie really brought out some new revelations.

Howard - Give Facebook Another Chance

Howard had a hilarious segment this week where he went off on Mike Gange (sp?) about his Facebook page. Stern went on to say that FB was basically retarded because people update their status every freaking minute. He even mentioned that he was done with it.

But Howard, I implore you to give FB another chance. I joined this past summer, and held out for because I thought it was just for people who become obsessed with it.

And yes, there are people who feel like updating their status every time they add a freaking fruit to their cereal. But I would say that the great majority of FB users like me only go to the site occasionally and for a few minutes at a time.

In fact, what I've found to be one of the beautiful things about Facebook is that you can make it whatever you want. You can waste a bunch of time there, just look at pictures, check out events and birthdays, then go on with your day.

And yes, one thing that happens is that some users who you remember as being annoying end up being annoying there too.

But Howard, please stick with FB a little longer - at least so we can keep hearing your commentary about it.

Leave Lisa G Alone

Lisa G gets a lot of crap for being too much of a goodie goodie, but it's actually great to hear someone like that on the show.

But do we really need these new songs and conversations about her bathroom habits? That's getting way too personal. There could be prospective bachelors listening who don't really want that image of someone they're thinking of dating.

Lisa G has her quirks - playing violin instead of going out w. Howard and Beth? Those expensive cookies? Yes - those things are fair game.

But really - leave Lisa G alone.

End the Miss Howard TV Charade

Howard, can you please stop the Miss Howard TV charade on your show?

I understand the rationale for Miss Howard Stern. She has a recurring role and is funny as hell.

But having a Miss Howard TV girl every month has become such a joke! This girl just comes into the studio, maybe whips out her tits, and you ask her if she's every had anal.

Then Artie hits on the girl and offers her cash for sex in a nearby hotel room.

Then the girl is never seen again! Definitely not on Howard TV.

And please don't read this and think I want the Miss Howard TV all over HTV shows.

What I'm saying is that there shouldn't be another Miss Howard TV crowned. You can keep having hot chicks on your show, and Howard TV can still be awesome without having a meaningless title that has the potential of devaluing other titles you attach your great name to.
